This week we learned a variety of things this week. For instance a new web 2.0 source called Mindmiester. MindMiester (shown below) helps plan and/or study for tests and other types of learning. It is not as easy to use as a Animoto but shows all the information all at once. Mine was on A.S.P.E.C.T.
This is an example of an professional mindmap. Can be found HERE
Taken September 7 2008 (picture above.)
Create your own mind maps at MindMeister
This map describes A.S.P.E.C.T a anagram that is used to decide if a website is credible enough to trust. This is what the anagram A.S.P.E.C.T stands for.
A- In ASPECT this means authority. This explain why it was written and toward who. Example. If this was written for toddlers it would not be describing hip-hop or rock music.
S- In ASPECT means sources. Make sure all the links are for respectable sources and thoroughly explain what it explains. Example. The sources for A music website would not go to a science website on food.
P- In ASPECT means purpose. This part of ASPECT wants you to ask yourself why it was written. Example. If the website is about cats and the thing described most is dogs, does this websites purpose compare the same with the title.
E- In ASPECT this means evenness. This helps viewers find out if this website is bias. Bias means it leans toward on side more than the other. Example. If a website about democrats is written by a republican it is most likely going to be bias.
C- In ASPECT this means coverage. This helps you find out how it compares with the research you have done yourself. Example. If a website about monkeys is written by a child, it probably will not compare well with a website written by a scholar.
T- In ASPECT this means timelines. A date about when a website was last updated is what you use to find out its timeline. If the timeline is Way back in 2001 it may not be a reliable source. Example. A website about medicine written in the 1990 may not be as reliable as one written in the 2011.
In digital literacy news, Our Digital Drivers License Explains website dangers as well as going over similar stuff with ASPECT. This information helps me use safer sites online that will not be helpful but other sites that would.
All in all this week has been great. But I know next week will be even better.

cool things this week
This week we Discovered a new site called digital drivers license. The website explains the dangers of texting to much, smothering your friends with texts, or just plain old sending them disrespectful texts. This information has helped me realize what I should do and not do when talking or texting friends. Now whenever I am on my phone I am positive that I will not push my friends away by suffocating them with messages or calls.
Some new vocab words we learned this week are
REPUTATION: An impression of someone you know of or met earlier or later that is either good or bad. Example: Bob's reputation on the internet is great because he keeps all disrespectful comments to himself and only comments positively. Jenny's reputation however is horrible because she does nothing but comment negatively and always is rude online. Who do you want to be friends with.
PERSIST: When you continue on or endure through hardships for the betterment of yourself. Example: John was very persistent when it came to studying for tests.
CONTEXT: Many different factors that surround information that help determine its many different meanings.Example: By using context clues Daniel was able to find out that the sentence was describing a happy tone toward the father.
TAG: Words( on the internet mind you) That describes A photo or video, normally under the the photo or video.Example: Bob wrote under his profile picture what the picture was taken of.
Another new thing we used this week is 25 websites to have fun with your photos. We used this website to give examples of positive and negative pictures. If you could not tell the left pictures are negative and the right photos are positive. If you would like to use it please click here.
Here Are two of the photos you can make off this website.

cool things this week
This week we learned about a tremendous video maker called Animoto. We had to add in this video how to be a good digital citizen, and how to act like one. Watch my video below for more info. I personally like this tool better because it allows for more information to be explained much easier.
The definitions we have mastered this week are
ETHICS- The principles and morals that govern peoples behavior for honesty respect toward others. Example. If you had ethics taught to you you would not dean it appropriate to disobey a teacher/cuss in class/completing work/asking questions when lost.
ONLINE ETHICS-Governs your behavior online and with devices so you dont disrespect the internet and people on the internet as well so you don't upset or anger anyone online. Examples. Writing only positive things on social sites/ being fair and respecting others online privacy/ and not sharing others personal info.
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP- A safe responsible and ethical approach to functioning in the digital world. example. Not hacking peoples private lives/ respecting their social life on social networks/ and making sure you are searching of secured networks.

Privacy- Respecting peoples private lives on the internet by not intruding their personal files or hacking their accounts. example. billy respected bobs business by signing out of his computer when bob forgot to log off.
SELF EXPRESSION/IDENTITY- Presenting oneself honestly and genuinely in the online world. example. bob did not make a fake account and pretend to be someone else online.
CONNECTED CULTURE - Treating others kindly and respectfully and avoiding cyber bullying someone. example. sally did not comment negatively on terry's blog picture because she was not a cyber bully.
RESPECTING CREATIVE WORK- Citing others work( cite means to give credit)and ask for permission from the author if you may use his protected work except if it is creative commons work. example. Billy would not take Sandra's picture without first citing and and asking for permission from Sandra.
Personally this information helps me describe and tell others how to behave online by following these definitions.
But after all this learning my week has been a great experience which I will most certainly build on in the future.
Thank you for viewing my Animoto and my blogger.
See you next week.

New Wii television release
The article I have found this week describes the new Nintendo technology called Nintendo TV. The title of this article is Nintendo TV second screen Wii style. If you would like to view the article you may click the hyper link here .
This article explains Nintendo's new technology called Nintendo TVII.
This new technology allows for you to view your television/Netflix/Hulu off the new Wii U.This amazing technology is only available with the purchase of a Wii U.
I believe an issue people will have with this article is the price of this service which was not told. This does not bother me because I will not be getting me the television version of the Wii U so it does not effect me at all.I will how ever probably getting the Wii U so most likely this event will effect me in a positive way. If I have not stated this before this event makes me feel ecstatic that Nintendo is finally catching up game system wise. This is just my opinion on the matter.
This event will effect the world dramatically video game wise because of the Wii U ability to handle higher graphic games. The ability to view television on the Wii U will allow A high demand of these making Nintendo's competitors try and catch up. The Wii U other ability to View Netflix and Hulu in great definition will make big movie/ television fanatics lining up for this new fantastic device. A new guide feature that allows easy access to TV comes free with the Wii U television. The date of this release will make people wonder and anxious to by the Wii U so they most likely to keep it.
Thank you for viewing see you next time.

Cool things this week.
This week we learned our new vocab words for this week. I am compelled to say that these words are very difficult and most annoying, but some how I have learned them. We Were also asked to read a partners blog post and make suggestions on how to make it better.
The thing I found most enjoyable this week was learning what not to view on the internet. Say someone sends you an email that states the bank lost your information. That may as well be an identity thief. The bank would never send you an email to tell your information.
We Also learned a tremendous amount of rules concerning sending emails to co-workers.
As well as these rules which came from our teachers power point
Some more fascinating information.
paragraphs and bullets are are needed in e-mails
This is but a taste of what exciting things we are learning in class.
Lastly we learned what an RSS is and what we use it for.
RSS stands for really simple syndication and is mostly used for subscribing to blogs. Shown to the right.
